ACCA Manual J

Heating and Cooling equipment is most often selected and installed based on rule of thumb guesstimations. However, there is a solid foundation for the science behind the Manual J load calculation procedure.

Principles such as basic heat transfer are taken into consideration.

Changing construction practices, location and building orientation can have on effect on building load and equipment selection.

ACCA Manual S

Equipment is sized using ACCA Manual S procedures adjusted for the climate zone of your project. Manufacture Product Data sheets are used to determine equipment size.

ACCA Manual D

Once a Load Calculation is prepared for a home the next step is to design a duct system that distributes air to meet the room by room heating and cooling loads.

Calculating friction rates, determining duct diameters and layout options are also part of Manual D.

Other design issues include return air sizing and filter selection.

Manual T

The final piece of the puzzle is room by room air flow
